If you’re opening new retail stores throughout the country in a short period of time, you know it’s no small task. You need to make sure your stores open on time and meet their projections. This can be a complicated, time-sensitive and expensive endeavor. Many factors, including permits, approvals and weather, can delay or push ahead the schedule. Often times, contractors need certain items onsite at specific times to keep the project moving along. Accordingly, they need some flexibility regarding when they can access their fixtures, displays and furnishings. Finding enough safe space to store materials onsite can be difficult. Items can easily be damaged or lost. If a store is mall-based, deliveries can be time restricted and difficult.
NDS provides a fully staffed and equipped storage facility near the project site. The retail chain’s purchasing department orders all materials within required lead times and ships the items to the NDS warehouse. There, it is kept safe until delivery is requested. The retailer, the contractor and NDS work together to schedule deliveries so items are received at the proper times to keep the project on schedule. While logistics is a small part of the bigger picture, well run projects can save time, money and headaches.
Many times, retail stores cannot close for a remodel. That means projects can be tricky due to tight time constraints, quick deliveries, and the manpower needed to remove, blanket-wrap and safe-care items as well as to set-up new displays and décor. Often times, malls will require deliveries to be completed before 10:00 AM or normal opening hours.
